Expanding their wide ranged, reputed African/Caribbean flavour implanted menu, Manjaros had invited me and many other food bloggers to taste their new additions to the
menu. The new additions conclude a total of 14 new dishes enticing various tastebuds of each individual.
Starters seeing 3 new additions to the family including the a soft Garlic flatbread with chesee & tandoori chicken, crunchy toasted nachos topped with a flavour packed achari keema, and the star of the show, the succulent garlic mushroom flambé lamb chops. ~
in my opinion, the garlic flatbread had an overpowering garlic note which had muted the tandoori chicken taste which perhaps could have been more relevant as well as being topped with extra cheese which had also masked the flavour of the chicken.
The achari keema nachos were bang on due to the flavour of the keema. The salsa provided with the nachos was pretty standard.
Finally, the garlic mushroom flambé lamb chops were succulent, juicy and full of flavour neither hard or dry which is often the case with lamb chops.
Mains has had an addition of 11 new dishes including four of which we were given to try by Manjaros.
These consisted of the Palak (spinach) chicken parmesan, chicken nambali, ‘the fat cow’ burger, and last but no means least the flavoursome Achari keema
Rasta pasta. ~ the chicken Parmesan was cooked perfectly however, had an overwhelming amount of cheese which ment that the dish was something which you wouldn’t be able to eat a lot of.
The chicken Nambali had a unique flavour to it however could have done with less cheese and a further enhanced flavour.
The fat cow burger was a good but however, on the other hand lacked texture & seasoning which scored it down from being a gourmet.
Last but no means least, the Rasta Pasta was the highlight of the new mains for me and my plus one due to the unique flavour profile of the achar.
The reasoning as to why I haven’t given Manjaros a full 5/5 is down to the fact that there is cheese on nearly every dish and sometimes too much of it. However, this can easily be rectified and is not a major issue hence why the 4 stars. Disregarding this, the food was overall delicious and comforting which is the most important so it’s 100% worth a try.
Overall, the service was splendid, both the host and waiters were incredibly enthusiastic of manjaros and their food. The waiters could answer most questions regarding the food showcasing the professionalism of service and they way they are taught. The waiters also all had different personalities which were presented making the experience more lively, entertaining, interactive. Absolutely the best service you can ever have in a restaurant which I’ve never come across!
