Casual, Late-Night

‘A welcomtastic place for all’, My Lahore has established a well, wide ranged menu which surely welcomes every person alongside their unique tastebuds. A multi-site well-known restaurant up north, My Lahore have opened their first branch in London, in Barking. Despite, this ‘gem’ hidden away, beside Showcase Cinema, it gives a new opportunity grabbing a bit to eat before or after a film. The parking is available on-site with a fair few spaces which is shared with the cinema, therefore shouldn’t be a hassle finding parking whilst your tummy rumbling!

Starting off with their mocktails, we had each of every flavour; original, strawberry & passion fruit. They were some decent mojitos/mocktails! I has the original however ended up liking the distinctive taste of the passion fruit...

For starters, we got the flavourful Vegetable Samosa Chaat, flaming mutton chops, & the flame grilled chicken wings.

The samosa chaat had many textures and flavours like any other.

The flaming mutton chops were a little over-cooked which was a let down however, had a good flavour which could have been slightly more powering.

The grilled chicken wings were okay in taste, however were also a little dry - these things are both minor errors which can be rectified easily.

For Mains, we got the Baked Parmesan (much like Manjaros Chicken Parmesan), the Gourmet Burger, chicken stir-fry, and chicken Tortilla Panini.

The Baked Parmo was succulent and not dry, there was minimal béchamel sauce which was still present but not overwhelming which is great. The oven cooked, breadcrumbed chicken could have been a little more crispy creating a contrast of texture. The mutton mince was either not there or played a subtle presence.

The Gourmet burger had a great, unique taste and well seasoned, reminded me a little of my mums homemade kebabs. The only downside was the fact that the burger patty itself was quiet small in comparison to the buns.

The chicken stirfry was delicious, no faults at all with a wonderful taste.

Last but no means least, the chicken tortilla panini, loved the filling. It was succulent, full of flavour which was unique.

For desserts, we got the fresh waffle & the falooda.

The fresh waffle was well balanced when topped with the chocolate. It wasn’t overalls sickening or sweet. The waffle itself could have done a little longer in the machine to great a further crispier outside.

The falooda, well, it got the thumbs up from mum so that’s a good thing. She’s pretty hard to please! Again, it wasn’t overall sweet and the flavours were there.

Overall, My Lahore is a fabulous restaurant to go to, with a flamboyant, colourful interior and ambient lighting, reflecting the surroundings and the atmosphere. The service is excellent & friendly, staff often asking you if everything was okay. The food is fantastically unique and is sure to fit anyone’s tastebuds.
